“No Author” is the moniker of Michigan native Sam Franz, who got his start producing music while attending the University of Michigan, after which he co-founded the label “none/such” and released his first cassette “POST FASHION.” Prior to his involvement in none/such, Sam was a member of the Michigan Electronic Music Collective (MEMCO) which he credits fully for exposing him to the range of electronic music produced historically in Detroit and Ann Arbor. Now Philadelphia-based, No Author is a no-holds-barred deconstructed club, trance, and experimental project dedicated to producing expensive sounds with a neo-trance sensibility. Including everything from noise, to experimental, to hard-hitting dancefloor-oriented club music, No Author brings an experimental sensibility to genre boundaries, working towards a more compelling electronic future. His music works on the dancefloor like a factory line, which holds emotions and shapes.
