Michael The Lion is the latest and greatest pseudonym of long-time Philadelphia DJ and producer DJ Apt One. Known for his instrument-heavy disco productions, his collaborations with vocalist Amy Douglas, and his edits for Soul Clap, Razor-N-Tape, Diggin Deeper, Philadelphia International and others. He adapts the trademark sound he's developed for over a decade - live instruments sitting seamlessly with sampled grooves to create organic, classic disco textures. The Lion sound is always funky, always strong and always ready for the floor. Michael is part of Philly's longest running disco classics party - Hooked - with DEL and Shawn Ryan, and his monthly show with Recloose and Elvin T on Great Circles just turned 2. Michael spent much of the last year DJing repeat engagements at Philly's Dolphin Tavern, New York's House of Yes and Berlin's KitKat Club.
