Born and raised in northeast Philly with a childhood rooted in hip hop, sounds of the Chemical Brothers eventually commingled with Biggie, Nas, and GZA lyrics to open up a new world of music for Brian. Burning mix cds for friends eventually led to curating his own well-received mixes including the prestigious TechnoFist Podcast and Undertone Radio, a hybrid set played live for Infra Boston, and self-released tracks on Bandcamp. Today, as creator of the Obsidian and Anthracite events in Philadelphia, Brian combines live analog synthesis elements with drum machines and digital effects modules to create a hybrid industrial techno performance merging together producer and DJ principles.
